This was supposed to be a quick doodle, but it ended up taking 3 days.

Well, 3 days of "but I don't wanna draw" and 3 hours of "OK OK I'M DRAWING IT ALREADY."

Must be the weather or something. Getting myself to draw was tough as beans.

(actually, come to think of it, what exactly does "tough as beans" mean??)

well when we cook beans here in my house they're usually rocks before you cook them. and then there's when they're on the way out when you had to many that's tough

I have never heard of that idiom. "tough as beans" I suppose some beans can be "tough", I guess? Hard shells maybe?
